What should I know before selling a junk car?
Before selling a junk car to Cash For Junk Cars Westside Chicago LLC, know three things: towing on the West Side is free, you're paid at pickup by cash, Zelle or Cash App, and the title situation decides the paperwork. Below are the questions sellers ask us most, grouped by topic.
Offers and payment
- Do you charge anything for the tow?
- No. Towing is free and isn't subtracted from the offer.
- Which payment methods can I choose?
- Cash, Zelle or Cash App. You pick on the call, and you're paid at pickup before the car leaves.
- Will the number I'm quoted hold on pickup day?
- Only if the car isn't what was described, for example a missing catalytic converter or damage that wasn't mentioned. Describe it honestly and the number holds. Why offers change.
- How long is my offer good for?
- It doesn't expire. Take the time you need, and when you call back, the number holds for the same car in the same condition.
- How do you work out the price?

Titles and paperwork
- What if the title is lost?
- Tell us what you do have. Which papers count for a scrap sale is set by Illinois law, so we check yours on the phone before a truck is booked. Selling without a title.
- The car still has a loan or title loan on it. Can I sell it?

- The owner died. Who can sell the car?

- Should I take the license plates?
- Yes. Remove them before the truck leaves; they're yours, not the buyer's.
Pickup and timing
- How soon can a truck come?
- Same-day pickup is often possible. We tell you on the call when a truck can get there.
- Should I bring the car to Chicago Ave, or will you come to it?
- We come to it. Our tow truck goes to the street, alley or lot where the car is and loads it right there. We don't take drop-offs.
- Can you pick up on a Sunday?
- We're closed on Sundays. Send the form and we'll call you back on Monday, or book a Saturday pickup.
- I have two or three junk cars. One trip or several?
- Yes. Tell us how many vehicles there are and where each one is parked, and we plan the trip around all of them.
- Do you go to the suburbs?
- Yes, the near west suburbs, from Oak Park and Cicero out to Melrose Park. The neighborhoods page lists every area.
- Can you get a car out of a garage off the alley?
